Founder & Executive Chairman

Anthony “Tony” Dara is Founder & Executive Chairman of Meridian Media Group. His career spans broadcast engineering, television, journalism, media entrepreneurship and technology across Africa and the United Kingdom.

He is an alumnus of Kaduna Polytechnic and De Montfort University, and undertook professional broadcast training at BBC Training & Development, Wood Norton, Evesham.

His professional experience includes NTA, ITV and Bloomberg Television, followed by more than two years with broadcast technology company Snell & Wilcox. While at Snell & Wilcox, he represented the company at the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany as a Customer Service Engineer supporting broadcast-equipment customers.

He subsequently moved into media entrepreneurship, founding NN24, Nigeria’s pioneering 24-hour television news channel, and later developing other media ventures. His work through Meridian Media Group now centres on building media platforms, technology and institutional infrastructure connecting Africa, Britain and the global diaspora.

His focus at Meridian is the long-term structuring of the Group: aligning journalism, streaming and media technology into a single institutional framework capable of operating across Africa, Britain and the global diaspora.
